Happy New Year! I write to you this New Year's Eve from my couch, glass of champagne in hand, and my friends Andy Cohen/Anderson Cooper on my television. Bliss!

I absolutely can't believe how quickly 2019 flew by. I spent the first four glorious months on maternity leave. Maternity leave was the truly the best time of my life. I could have stayed in that little baby bubble forever. Began working full-time around April. Honestly, since then, I have been trying to adjust/figure out how to balance everything. It's really hard. 2019 has been one of the most magical, yet challenging years of my life. Being a mommy is the most amazing gift. I can't get over the fact that my baby is 1! I spent the greater part of the year so sleep-deprived that I barely remember half of it. Adjusting back to work was very difficult for me. Harder than I had anticipated. Little by little,  it got easier and we fell into a great routine.  Around the beginning of fall, I  started feeling life settle in a bit, and feeling like myself again. As difficult as some moments of 2019 have been, I wouldn't change a thing and am so grateful for everything 2019 brought me. Looking into 2020, I am so energized and ready to take it on. I can't wait for all that is to come.

I took about an hour and went through each area of my life, looked at where I am now, where I want to be, and how I can get there. The key is to be realistic. If you want to buy a house, look at the steps you need to take to make this goal a reality. How much money do you need to save this year to make it happen next? Really evaluate each goal.

What's the difference between goals and resolutions? I see goals as long term substantial life changes/events, whereas resolutions are simpler steps for the present that will eventually lead to your goals. The idea of yearly resolutions is a bit broad for me. I typically like to set some resolutions at the beginning of each month, I feel like it holds me more accountable to constantly check-in
